Albanian Interpreter and Document Translation

You need an Albanian translator when a document issued in Albania must be used in Georgia, a Georgian document must go to an Albanian authority, or a legal, immigration, educational or business procedure involves both countries. General text transfer is not enough: the document type, issuing body, personal data, register numbers, seals, entries and legal purpose all have to come across correctly. TARGMANEBI translates Albanian civil registry, e-Albania, residence, education, business and legal documents into Georgian, and prepares Georgian documents in Albanian.

Albanian documents use terms and administrative forms that do not map directly onto Georgian practice. Civil certificates may say certifikatë lindjeje, certifikatë martese, certifikatë familjare or certifikatë personale; business documents Qendra Kombëtare e Biznesit, NIPT or ekstrakt historik; immigration files leje qëndrimi or leje unike. A professional translation chooses the right meaning in context and keeps one terminology throughout.

Before starting, three things matter: where the document will be submitted, whether it needs an apostille or legalization, and whether the recipient accepts an electronic PDF.

Albanian into Georgian and Georgian into Albanian

We work in both directions, from one-page certificates to multi-page contracts, court materials, company documents, medical histories and education packages. From Albanian, headings, fields, notes, signatures, seals and electronic certification elements are all processed; into Albanian, the text is written in natural official style so an Albanian-speaking institution understands it. If a document also carries English or another language, we agree in advance which parts go into the final translation.

e-Albania and documents with an electronic seal

Most Albanian state services are available on the e-Albania portal, where citizens or authorised users receive certificates, extracts and application results electronically. These PDFs often carry an electronic seal, QR code, unique number or other verification mechanism.

For translation we need the original electronic file, not a screenshot, with every page, footer, electronic seal text and verification data visible. Do not crop the QR code or document number, and do not convert the PDF into an image if that loses the text and electronic seal. If the recipient wants a paper version, translating only the PDF may not be enough, so the format is agreed in advance.

The Albanian civil registry and common certificates

Albanian civil status documents are linked to the national civil status register and may show a person's birth, marriage, family composition, address or other status. Some certificates have a short title but contain several legally significant fields, so every field is kept.

Certifikatë lindjeje - birth certificate, for personal matters, citizenship, marriage, inheritance and education. Certifikatë martese - marriage certificate, for family reunification, change of surname, residence, banking and legal matters. Certifikatë familjare - family composition certificate, proving family ties or household members. Certifikatë personale - personal certificate, showing specific personal and civil status entries. Vërtetim banimi - residence certificate, proving address or registration. Dëshmi penaliteti - criminal record certificate, for work, residence, visas and licences. See criminal record certificate translation.

The Albanian alphabet: why ë and ç matter

Albanian uses the Latin alphabet with specific letters and digraphs. The letters ë and ç need particular care, as do the combinations read as single sounds: dh, gj, ll, nj, rr, sh, th, xh and zh. Misreading them can change a name, surname, place of birth or institution.

The Georgian form of a name follows the Latin entry in the passport and is repeated identically across every related document. If a Georgian certificate and the passport differ, we agree before translating which entry is primary and whether an alternative form should appear in brackets.

Apostille, legalization and the order of steps

International use may require an apostille or consular legalization. An apostille confirms the signature and seal on a document; it does not replace the translation. The right order depends on the issuing country, the receiving country and the specific office. Often the public document is apostilled first and then translated with the apostille page; in other cases the recipient may want a notarized copy, certification of the translation or an extra consular step. Doing an apostille or certification without the exact requirement can prove unnecessary, so send the written instruction. See apostille and legalization.

For an Albanian public document in Georgia: a full translation, with the apostille where needed - check whether the Georgian office wants the original, an apostille and notarization. For a Georgian document in Albania: a translation into Albanian plus the required international certification - check the Albanian office's format and any certified translation requirement. For an electronic PDF: the electronic seal and every technical element translated - check whether the recipient accepts a digital document. For a private contract: translation, with certification of signature or copy where needed.

Albanian residence, leje qëndrimi and leje unike

Albanian residence and work cases involve the leje qëndrimi (residence permit) and the leje unike (unique permit), which depending on the grounds may cover both living and working. Attachments differ for family reunification, employment, study, investment or other purposes.

Commonly translated are the passport, birth or marriage certificate, criminal record certificate, employment contract, company letter, proof of accommodation, income certificate and health insurance. Every application has its own list, so this is a practical guide, not a substitute for the official requirements. For family reunification, names in the marriage certificate must match the passports, parents' data in the birth certificate must be correct and the family certificate must show every relevant member; a surname changed on marriage may need the marriage certificate or a change of name act, a divorce the court decision, and a minor's travel the parent's consent, power of attorney and birth certificate.

QKB, NIPT and Albanian business documents

The main body for business registration and extracts in Albania is Qendra Kombëtare e Biznesit (QKB), the National Business Centre. Business documents often show the NIPT - the tax and identification number - legal status, address, administrator, partners, capital, activities and registration history.

We distinguish the current extract, the historical extract (ekstrakt historik), articles, registration decisions, licences and beneficial owner data. For banks, tenders or partner checks a short extract is often not enough, and historical changes or the ownership structure must be translated too. For companies we also translate contracts, commercial offers, tender documents, audit reports, technical descriptions and correspondence, keeping terminology consistent across a project. See registry extract translation.

Work, banking, education, medical and legal texts

Work and banking. Employment contracts, employer certificates, payslips, social insurance data, income confirmations and posting letters, with position, term, pay, hours and termination conditions exact. In bank and tax documents the account holder, IBAN, purpose, currency, period, balance, turnover and tax number are rendered precisely; send files clear but not over-edited, so no field is lost. Education. A package usually includes the diploma, transcript or supplement, hours, qualification title, mode of study, accreditation note and sometimes syllabuses. Albanian recognition of foreign higher education uses electronic services too, and for an Albanian diploma in Georgia the requirement depends on the Georgian university, employer or recognition body. Medical. Diagnoses, discharge summaries, lab and imaging results, surgery notes, prescriptions and insurance forms. Doses, units, dates and anatomical terms are never freely interpreted; unclear or handwritten entries may need clarification from the clinic. A medical translation conveys information and is not an assessment of diagnosis or treatment. See medical translation. Legal and consular. Judgments, claims, evidence, notarial acts, powers of attorney, consents, inheritance documents and contracts, with procedural terms, party status, deadlines and articles exact. A translation does not prove the signatory's intent or signature - a notary, apostille or consular form may be needed. Consular certificates, criminal record checks, lost document statements and driving licence information each have their own purpose; for licences, categories, dates, restrictions and issuer are checked. See legal translation.

Machine translation may give the gist, but in an official document it often cannot tell the type of civil act, the name of an authority, a legal status or the right form of a name. A small mistake can create a mismatch between documents.

How an Albanian translation order runs

1

Send the file

Every page, including the apostille, back sides and attachments.

2

Clarify the requirement

Where the document will be submitted and whether notarization is needed.

3

Translation and checking

Full control of structure, names and terminology.

4

Delivery

Electronically or in an agreed physical form.

Price, turnaround and ordering online

The initial assessment sets the number of pages, document type, language direction, complexity, certification and your deadline; then you get the price and terms, which are by agreement. A short personal document is often faster than a contract, court file, medical history or multi-page business document. See translation prices.

No office visit is needed for the first assessment - send the file from Georgia or abroad. This is especially convenient when someone in Albania sends an e-Albania PDF and the translation must be used in Georgia, or the reverse. If a notarized paper copy is needed in the end, presenting the original, issue and delivery are agreed in advance; working from a scan does not always mean a scan will be enough for certification.

Frequently asked questions about Albanian translation

Can an Albanian translation be notarized?

Yes. Depending on the purpose and recipient, a translation in either direction can be prepared for notarization. Check first whether the original, a certified copy or a clear electronic document is needed.

Can a PDF downloaded from e-Albania be translated?

Yes, as long as every page, the electronic seal data, QR code or other verification element is clearly visible. Check with the office whether it accepts an electronic copy or wants paper.

What is the difference between an apostille and a notarized translation?

An apostille confirms the signature and seal of a public document for international use; a notarized translation concerns certification of the translation. A case may need one or both, in the right order.

How are Albanian names written in Georgian?

They are checked first against the Latin entry in the passport or ID card, and one form is kept across all documents - especially for ë, ç, gj, nj, sh, th, xh and zh.

Do you translate from Georgian into Albanian?

Yes - Georgian civil, educational, medical, legal, banking and business documents, in the form suited to where they will be submitted.

Do you translate documents for Albanian residence or a unique permit?

Yes - passports, birth and marriage certificates, criminal record certificates, residence, work, income and family ties documents. Always check the final list in the application or with the competent Albanian authority.

How do I receive the finished translation?

As an electronic PDF and, if agreed, a certified paper copy collected from the office or delivered. For official use, confirm whether the recipient accepts a scan or wants the physical original.
