Translation Bureau in Pasanauri

Pasanauri is the heart of the Georgian Military Road - the khinkali town where every car heading for Gudauri and Kazbegi stops, and the Aragvi valley, where rafting, ziplines and horse-riding tours await foreign guests in summer. Active tourism calls for one special type of document: safety rules and liability waivers that a guest signs before getting into the boat, and that are read in court if an accident happens. TARGMANEBI offers Pasanauri businesses, seasonal staff and families translation, notarization and apostille.

A translation bureau for Pasanauri - TARGMANEBI's service for a town where a tourist stops for two hours and in those two hours both eats khinkali and goes down the Aragvi. Both need a text - a menu that tells the guest, in a language they understand, what to order, and a safety briefing that tells them what not to do in the boat. But while a mistake in a menu is just an embarrassment, a mistake in a liability waiver decides the fate of a business when an accident happens. That is why the Pasanauri page is about the legal documents of active tourism.

Pasanauri's second stream is the Gudauri season: in winter hundreds of seasonal staff work at the resort - instructors, hotel staff, lift operators - some of them foreign nationals who need Georgian papers, others locals from Pasanauri who take Georgian certificates to European resorts. The third is the usual one: families of Mtiuleti whose children are in Europe. From Pasanauri it is two hours to Tbilisi, but someone travels towards the capital along the Military Road every hour - the courier and a driver you know alike - and the paper moves with that flow while you stay where you are.

Before getting into the boat - safety rules and liability waivers

An operator of rafting, zipline, horse-riding and cycling tours needs three documents in the guest's language - and all three are legal documents, however simple they sound:

Risk acknowledgement and liability waiver

  • A description of the activity's risks - water, height, animals, weather
  • The guest's statement on health and abilities
  • The scope of the operator's liability and the exceptions
  • An obligation to use the equipment and follow instructions
  • Signature, date and, for a minor, a parent's consent

Safety briefing and rules

  • The briefing text for the guide in the guest's language
  • Commands and signals in the boat with consistent terms
  • Instructions for putting on and checking equipment
  • Restrictions - alcohol, health conditions, age
  • What to do in case of a fall overboard, an injury or a change in the weather

Business documents

  • Contracts with tour operators for group tours
  • Insurance policy terms in Georgian and in the guest's language
  • Equipment certificates and inspection reports
  • Instructor certificates from international federations
  • The incident report and correspondence with the insurer, if something happens

One principle applies to translating a liability waiver: it has to read in the legal language of the guest's country, because in a dispute it is a court or an insurer there that will read it. "At your own risk", "the operator is not liable", "informed consent" - these formulas have established equivalents in English, German and Russian law, and a word-for-word translation robs them of their force. Waivers are translated by a translator with a legal background, and we recommend a bilingual format; the briefing text for the guide is prepared in short, imperative sentences - the way it is heard in the boat.

Minors are a separate topic: letting a child go rafting or on a zipline requires the parent's written consent, and that consent has to be written in the parent's language and exist in Georgian as well. We prepare a separate children's version of the form - with age limits, a parental responsibility clause and a signature field for the accompanying person.

Pasanauri restaurants take thousands of guests a day and need menus in English, Russian and, increasingly often, Polish, Hebrew or Arabic. We translate menus in a culinary style - types of khinkali and khachapuri, Mtiuleti dishes with a description rather than a word-for-word rendering - with allergen and dietary markings, as well as price boards, hotel room terms and descriptions for navigation and booking platforms. Such texts need no certification, and seasonal changes are then done at a small cost agreed in advance. For Hebrew and Arabic, call us first - we confirm availability.

In a menu, the name of a dish decides a sale; in a liability waiver, the wording decides a dispute. The two are translated by different translators, and both can be part of one order.

The Gudauri season - instructors and staff

In winter hundreds of people from Pasanauri and the villages of Mtiuleti work in Gudauri, and some go to resorts in Austria, Italy and France with a Georgian instructor certificate - for that the certificate, the first aid certificate and a letter of experience are translated into the employer's language, and the qualification level is rendered with the term used in the international system. In the opposite direction, Gudauri hotels and schools invite foreign instructors and staff, whose certificates, passports and criminal record certificates are translated into Georgian, while the contract is drawn up in two languages. Before the season - in November - this flow rises sharply, so we book packages in October.

Families of Mtiuleti

Beyond tourism, families in Pasanauri, Khada, Mleta and Kvesheti live like the rest of the mountain region: children in Europe, grandparents in the village, the house often next to the Military Road, which falls within the project corridor. Their papers are no different from those of other families in Georgia - an embassy, a university, a power of attorney from Europe, a grandmother's pension - and the courier takes them to Pasanauri in the same envelope as a restaurant menu. In the villages of Mleta and Kvesheti, where a new section of the Military Road is being built, comparing bilingual land compensation contracts is added to that.

Languages in orders from Pasanauri

Because of active tourism and Gudauri, English, Russian and Polish are everyday languages in Pasanauri, Ukrainian and Arabic those of seasonal guests, and German, Italian and French those of instructors and Alpine resorts. Czech and Dutch come up with rafting groups, Greek and Spanish in family documents; Turkish and Chinese are rare from Pasanauri. For a Hebrew menu, call us in advance.

The process - from waiver to menu

1

A file in editable format

Waivers, rules, menus - as Word or PDF, by email to info@targmanebi.ge; certificates - as a photo, by WhatsApp. If you do not have a Georgian form yet, we will suggest a standard structure.

2

For whom and from which country

For a waiver - the main countries your guests come from, because the wording is fitted to their law; for a certificate - the employer and the country; for a menu - the languages and the season.

3

Legal or culinary

Waivers and policies are translated by a legal translator in a bilingual format, menus and briefings by a style-focused translator, certificates by an official documents translator, with notarization.

4

File and paper

Waivers and menus - as print-ready files, straight away. The courier brings a certified certificate to Pasanauri; anyone driving towards Gudauri or Tbilisi anyway can call at the office on the way.

Price and deadline

An order from Pasanauri is priced as in Tbilisi and agreed after we see the text. A liability waiver and safety rules are legal category and cost more per page than a menu, but they are translated once and serve for seasons - the following year only the changes are translated; a menu in three languages takes one to two days, a bilingual waiver two to three, an instructor certificate with notarization and apostille two to four. Rafting operators and restaurants work on the same templates from season to season and receive one invoice at the end of the month. The owner of TARGMANEBI is a lawyer - the sole trader Mariam Zumadze, ID 30601010853 - and checks liability waivers herself: for her it is a legal document, not a formality; a confirmed inaccuracy is corrected free of charge.

Frequently asked questions - translation in Pasanauri

I have a rafting liability waiver in English from the internet. Does it need a Georgian version and a notary?

Not a notary - it is a commercial document. A Georgian version is essential, though, because in Georgia a dispute is decided on the Georgian text; a form from the internet is often written for another country's law, and we bring it into line with the Georgian one. We recommend a bilingual format, with the guest signing both columns.

A Polish tourist fell out of the boat and was slightly injured. His insurer has asked for documents - which ones?

Usually the form signed by the guest, the incident report, the guide's statement, a medical certificate and, if you have one, your policy terms - in Polish or English, within one to two days. If the form was bilingual, you already have its translation - this is exactly the situation it is made for.

I want the menu in Hebrew and Arabic too, for Gudauri guests. Is that possible?

Arabic - yes, together with the English and Russian versions, from one source. For Hebrew, call us first - we confirm availability and the deadline after seeing the menu. In every language dish names are translated with a description, allergens and halal/vegetarian markings.

I want to work in Austria with a Georgian ski instructor certificate. Will they recognise it?

That is decided by the Austrian school or federation by comparing levels; our job is to prepare the certificate, the first aid certificate and the letter of experience in German, with apostille and notarization, in the terms of the international system - with a note on the Georgian level, without interpretation.

I have invited a Ukrainian receptionist to a hotel in Gudauri. How long do her papers take?

The passport, the criminal record certificate and the diploma or letter of experience into Georgian with notarization - in two to three days; the bilingual contract in the same package. The employee sends the photos directly from Ukraine, and the package is ready for her arrival.

Will the courier come to Pasanauri or do I have to go to Tbilisi?

Either is possible - the courier comes to Pasanauri on an agreed day, and we often use transport travelling along the Military Road too; anyone going to Tbilisi anyway collects at the office. Waivers and menus do not need paper at all.
