This page covers written translation. For an interpreter at a notary, a bank or a hospital, see the Ukrainian interpreter page.
Ukrainian is a separate language from Russian, with its own alphabet, grammar and official terminology. Ukrainian documents issued since the 1990s are in Ukrainian, older ones often in Russian, and many people have a mix of both. We translate each document from the language it is actually written in and keep the names consistent across all of them.

Ukrainian into Georgian
Most of our Ukrainian work goes into Georgian for Georgian bodies: the Public Service Hall, the Public Registry, banks, notaries, schools, universities, clinics and courts. Every name, number, date and stamp is reproduced exactly, and Ukrainian administrative terms are rendered with the Georgian terms these offices use.
Ukrainian civil status certificates, especially newer ones, carry registry numbers, QR codes and extract details that Georgian officials may check. We translate these elements rather than skip them, so nothing in the original is left unaccounted for.
Georgian into Ukrainian
Georgian documents go into Ukrainian for Ukrainian consulates, registry offices, courts, universities and employers - for example a child born in Georgia who must be registered in Ukraine, a marriage concluded in Tbilisi, or a Georgian diploma used in Ukraine.
Names are the main risk. A Ukrainian name has an official Latin spelling in the passport and its own Ukrainian Cyrillic form, which is not the same as the Russian one. We use the Ukrainian form from your Ukrainian documents, never a Russian variant.
Send a photo of your passport page with every order. We will use your name exactly as your Ukrainian documents show it, in Cyrillic and in Latin letters.
Ukrainian passports and personal documents
A translated passport is the starting document for almost every procedure in Georgia - opening a bank account, signing a lease at a notary, registering an entrepreneur, applying for residence. We translate both the internal ID card and the foreign passport, including the registration and residence entries where the office needs them.
For families, birth certificates of children and marriage certificates come up often, particularly for school enrolment and residence. Older Soviet-era certificates are translated from Russian or bilingual originals with the same care.
Ukrainian translation for residence, status and state bodies
Residence permits, humanitarian and other status procedures, and registration with Georgian agencies all require Ukrainian documents in Georgian. Most of these offices ask for a notarized translation, and some documents also need an apostille from Ukraine. Rules change from time to time, so we work from the list the office has given you.
If an original has been lost or cannot be obtained, tell us before ordering. In some cases an extract from a Ukrainian electronic register or a document issued by a consulate can replace it, and we can advise which document is likely to be accepted.
Ukrainian translation for business and company documents
Ukrainian entrepreneurs registering companies or individual entrepreneurs in Georgia, and Georgian companies working with Ukrainian partners, need company extracts, charters, resolutions, powers of attorney and contracts translated. The Public Registry usually requires a notarized translation of foreign corporate documents.
We keep the terminology of corporate law consistent between the documents in a package, so that the Georgian registry reads the company name, the directors and the powers exactly as the Ukrainian documents state them. See legal translation and registry extract translation.
Medical, education and legal Ukrainian
Medical. Medical histories, discharge summaries, test results and vaccination records for Georgian clinics, schools and insurers, with doses and drug names checked separately. See medical translation. Education. School report cards and certificates for enrolment, and diplomas with supplements for Georgian universities and for recognition procedures. Legal. Court decisions on divorce and custody, inheritance documents, powers of attorney and contracts, translated with consistent legal terminology.Ukrainian translation with notarization
Georgian state bodies, banks, the Public Registry and notaries generally accept a Ukrainian translation only in notarized form. Georgia and Ukraine are both parties to the Apostille Convention, so a Ukrainian public document used in Georgia may need a Ukrainian apostille. See notarization and apostille and legalization.

Price and turnaround for Ukrainian translation
The price depends on the volume, the type of document, the deadline and whether notarization is needed. Standard personal documents are quoted quickly; packages for residence or company registration are quoted together. See translation prices.

Do you translate in both directions?
Yes, from Ukrainian into Georgian and from Georgian into Ukrainian, for personal, educational, legal, medical and business documents.
Some of my documents are in Russian - is that a problem?
No. Older documents are often in Russian or bilingual. We translate each document from its actual language and keep your name consistent across all of them.
Which form do Georgian offices require?
Most state bodies, banks, the Public Registry and notaries require a notarized translation. Some documents also need a Ukrainian apostille; we check this for your case.
How is my name spelled?
In the Georgian translation your name is written from the Ukrainian form, with the Latin spelling taken from your passport, so every document matches.
Can I use a document from a Ukrainian electronic register?
Sometimes. Whether a Georgian office accepts an electronic extract depends on the office and the procedure. Send it to us and we will advise.
How long does it take?
A passport or certificate is often ready the same or the next working day; longer documents take more time. We confirm the deadline when we see the file.
Can I order online?
Yes. Send clear photos or scans by WhatsApp or email; certified translations are collected in Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi or delivered by courier.
