Translation Bureau in Sachkhere

Sachkhere is Imereti's north-eastern corner - on the road to Racha, below Modinakhe fortress, with villages from which more nurses, carers and tradespeople have gone to Germany in recent years than from almost anywhere else. Abroad they need one thing first of all: recognition of their Georgian diploma. TARGMANEBI offers the people of Sachkhere translation of the full recognition package - from the diploma to the curriculum - with notarization and apostille, and no trip to Kutaisi.

A translation bureau in Sachkhere - TARGMANEBI's service for a municipality where "Anerkennung" is an everyday word. A nurse from Sachkhere going to a German clinic will work in her own profession only if the relevant German authority recognises the Georgian diploma as equivalent; until then she is support staff on half the pay. Recognition needs a package of documents that is far more than "translating the diploma" - and this page is about that package.

Besides the recognition package, ordinary Imeretian papers arrive from Sachkhere too - family certificates, powers of attorney, pension record books, school certificates - along with tourism texts for Modinakhe and the roads to Sairme and Racha. The scheme is the same for all of it: a photo from Sachkhere or straight from Germany, translation and certification in Tbilisi, and paper by courier to Sachkhere or by international post abroad.

The recognition package - what a German authority asks for

Recognition authorities in Germany, Austria and other European countries compare a Georgian qualification with their own by the content of the curriculum. So the diploma is only the beginning:

Diploma and supplement

  • The diploma with the exact name of the qualification
  • The supplement with subjects, hours and grades
  • State examination or certification document
  • Registration or licence document (for nurses and doctors)
  • School certificate - to confirm basic education

Curriculum

  • Hour table with theory and practice shown separately
  • Subject descriptions (syllabuses) or the programme content
  • Practice records from a clinic or enterprise, with hours
  • Institution's certificate on accreditation and length of study
  • Continuing professional development certificates

Experience and personal

  • Work record book or service certificate with a description of the work
  • Employer's reference (the equivalent of an Arbeitszeugnis)
  • CV in the German format
  • Passport, birth and marriage certificates
  • Language certificate and criminal record certificate

The hardest item in that package is the hour table. The German authority counts how many hours the nurse studied anatomy, pharmacology and hygiene and how many she spent on placement, and compares that with the German programme. If a subject name in the translation does not match the term used in the German curriculum, those hours are "lost" and the recognition comes back partial - with an additional examination or an adaptation course. So the curriculum is translated by a medical or otherwise relevant specialist translator who knows German professional terminology, and we agree the subject equivalents with you in a separate table.

Obtaining the hour table and the programme description from the college is often harder for someone in Sachkhere than the translation itself. If you do not know which form to ask for, tell us - we will decode the German authority's requirement into Georgian so that you ask the college for exactly the document they need.

The professions that most often leave Sachkhere

Nurses and carers (Pflege) are the largest group, with full recognition or an adaptation course. Doctors go through a longer procedure and an examination in German medical language, for which the residency and specialisation documents are translated along with the diploma. Tradespeople - electricians, plumbers, welders, builders - whose vocational college diploma and service record are compared with a German Ausbildung. Teachers and kindergarten educators, on their pedagogical education programme. The receiving authority and the package differ for each profession, so the first question is always the same: which profession, which federal state and which authority.

Alongside recognition, many people from Sachkhere prepare for a language examination, and documents appear there too: language course certificates, international examination results, online school records. Those are a separate line in the recognition package and often need no translation at all - but we are exactly the people who will tell you which authority wants them in the original and which wants them translated.

Austria, Switzerland and the rest of Europe

The logic of recognition is similar across Europe, but the details differ: in Austria nostrification runs through the universities, in Italy through the consulate's "dichiarazione di valore", in Poland and the Czech Republic through a ministry of education procedure. In every case the documents go with an apostille and a notarized translation, and in some places the translation is accepted only from a local sworn translator - in which case we affix the apostille alone and do not charge you for a translation. Which country's rule applies to your profession we establish before the order.

Family papers and tourism

A recognition package is often followed by family documents: spouse's and children's certificates for family reunification, children's school records, a power of attorney for a grandmother, and in the other direction a German salary certificate for a Georgian bank and a German marriage or birth certificate for the Georgian registry. Sachkhere's tourism - Modinakhe fortress, the roads towards Sairme and Racha, the guest houses - needs hotel descriptions, routes and menus in English and Russian, without certification.

Languages in orders from Sachkhere

Because of the recognition packages, German outweighs every other language in Sachkhere - in our experience with one of the highest shares of any Georgian municipality. It is followed by English for universal documents, Polish and Czech for tradespeople's employment, and Italian for nostrification and family documents. Russian is needed for old diplomas and record books, while Greek, Spanish, French, Dutch, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic and Chinese come up a few times a year.

The process for a recognition package

1

The authority's letter first

Send us the German authority's list of requirements or the link, then photos of the documents - by WhatsApp or by email to info@targmanebi.ge. Without the list we would translate too much or too little.

2

What you have and what is missing

We tell you which document is ready to translate and which you still have to obtain from the college - the hour table, for instance. We quote once for the whole package.

3

Specialist translation and a table of equivalents

The diploma and the curriculum go to a translator in the relevant field; we send you the German equivalents of the subjects as a table to approve, and then the translation is notarized and the apostille affixed.

4

The package in Sachkhere or in Germany

The files at once; the paper package by courier to Sachkhere, at the Tbilisi office, or, if you are already in Germany, by international post straight to your address.

Price and turnaround for a recognition package

A recognition package is five to fifteen documents, and its cost is set mainly by the size of the curriculum - the diploma and certificates are the simple category, the hour table and syllabuses the specialist one. There is no surcharge for ordering from Sachkhere, and ordering as a package - one courier run, one apostille visit, one invoice - is noticeably cheaper than separate orders. A complete package with apostilles is normally ready in one to two weeks, not counting the wait for the college's documents. The owner of TARGMANEBI, responsible for every package, is the sole trader Mariam Zumadze (ID 30601010853); if a German authority finds an inaccuracy on our side in the translation, we correct and re-certify it free of charge.

Frequently asked questions - qualification recognition from Sachkhere

I have a nursing diploma from a Kutaisi college. Is the diploma alone enough for Germany?

No - along with the diploma the recognition authority asks for the supplement, the hour table with theory and practice shown separately, and the practice records, plus service documents where you have work experience. All in German, with an apostille and notarization. Send us the authority's list and we will shape the package to it.

The college cannot give me an hour table, only the supplement with grades. What do I do?

We will decode the German authority's requirement into Georgian so that you ask the college for exactly the document they need - often an "extract from the curriculum" or a "certificate on the scope of the programme". While you obtain it, we translate the rest of the package.

Does the translation have to come from a sworn translator in Germany, or will a Georgian notarized one do?

It varies by federal state and authority - some accept a Georgian notarized translation with an apostille, some only one from a German sworn translator. Name the authority and the state; if a sworn translator is required, our part is the apostille alone and we do not charge you for a translation.

I am a doctor with a residency and a specialisation. Are those in the package too?

Yes - for a doctor's recognition the residency certificate, the specialisation certificate, the state certificate, work experience documents and often a certificate of medical ethics are translated along with the diploma. A medical-profile translator works in German medical terminology.

I am already in Germany and the documents are with my parents in Sachkhere. How do we arrange it?

Your parents send the photos from Sachkhere and you send the authority's list from Germany. We prepare the translation from the photos, the courier collects the originals from Sachkhere for the apostille, and the finished package either goes back to your parents or by international post straight to your German address.

I am an electrician with a vocational college diploma. Will it count as equivalent to a German Ausbildung?

That is for the recognition authority to decide by comparing the programmes; our job is that the diploma, the supplement and the service record are translated in German trade terminology so that not one hour is "lost". Partial recognition with an additional examination is common - and in that case the translation stays the same.
