Translation Bureau in Adigeni

Adigeni is a mountain municipality where small hydropower plants stand in the gorges, the villages produce potatoes, dairy products and livestock, and a large share of families spend several months a year on seasonal work in Europe. Each of the three brings foreign-language documents with it: energy brings technical and investment papers, farming brings grants and certificates, seasonal workers bring contracts and certificates. TARGMANEBI serves Adigeni in these three areas, remotely and by courier.

A translation bureau for Adigeni - TARGMANEBI's service for a municipality whose villages are separated from one another by gorges and where every trip into town costs time. That is exactly why our whole process is set up so that you do not have to travel: you send a photo of the document, learn the price and the deadline within working hours, receive the finished file by email, and the courier brings the certified paper to Adigeni from the Akhaltsikhe route. Akhaltsikhe is half an hour away, Tbilisi more than three hours, so this arrangement has proved the most convenient for local people.

Energy - small hydropower plants in the gorges

The small plants built and planned on Adigeni's rivers are a separate layer of the local economy. In this field the document is almost always in a foreign language, because the equipment, the design work and often the financing too come from abroad:

Equipment and installation

  • Technical specifications for turbines and generators
  • Installation and commissioning instructions
  • Automation and control system manuals
  • Warranty terms and service contracts
  • Spare parts catalogues and order forms

Project and permits

  • Sections of feasibility studies
  • Environmental impact assessment documents
  • Hydrological survey and measurement reports
  • Agreements on land matters
  • Correspondence with regulators

Investment and reporting

  • Contracts with investors
  • Business plans and financial models
  • Company registration documents in English
  • Audit reports and financial statements
  • Power purchase agreements

The main translation risk in this field is technical units: capacity, head, flow, voltage - every value has its own notation rules, and a mistake here is not just an inaccuracy but a safety issue. So we compare the figures and units against the original as a separate step, and we leave the manufacturer's model numbers unchanged so that identifying a part during servicing causes no difficulty.

The documentation for one facility is kept with us as a single file: the installation instructions, the warranty and the service contract all use one terminology, so years later, when you need to replace a part, the new document will be prepared in the same words.

Farming, cooperatives, grants

Adigeni's villages live on potatoes, dairy products and livestock, and in recent years cooperatives and family farms have gained access to international programmes. A grant application is a genre of its own: it has a strict structure, indicators, a budget format and a description of results that has to be presented to the assessor in a specific kind of language. A good idea written in Georgian often loses its sharpness precisely at the translation stage, so such texts are done by an experienced translator who, where needed, points out where the wording should be tightened. Once the project wins, the second stage begins - reports, documents proving expenditure and monitoring questionnaires, which have to be written in the same terms. On top of that come instructions for dairy processing and slaughterhouse equipment, the accompanying texts of veterinary medicines and, in the case of export, veterinary and phytosanitary certificates.

Seasonal work in Europe

Every spring dozens of people leave Adigeni for seasonal work in agriculture and construction - most often in Poland, Germany and the Baltic states. Their package usually looks like this: an invitation or the employer's declaration, an employment contract, a health certificate, a criminal record certificate and sometimes a document confirming qualifications. Some of these documents are in a foreign language, and the person leaving needs them in Georgian - to understand the conditions, working hours, pay and accommodation costs exactly before signing. Our advice does not change: read the Georgian version of the contract before you sign, because that is where the things that later become the subject of a dispute are written. In the other direction, Georgian certificates are translated into the language of the receiving country and apostilled where required. After returning, people often need certificates issued there - on length of service, tax refunds, insurance documents - in Georgian, or the other way round.

Family and study documents

A third of the orders from Adigeni are always everyday family matters, and this flow exists at any time of year. A school leaver needs a certificate and its supplement for a foreign university, a student needs a transcript for an exchange programme, a newly married couple needs a marriage certificate for an embassy, and a family member abroad needs a power of attorney so that someone here can act on their behalf. Medical documents are a separate group: test results and discharge summaries taken to a foreign doctor for consultation or treatment, and the other way round - reports on treatment received abroad that the local doctor needs in Georgian. Such documents often contain handwritten prescriptions, and deciphering them needs special attention. For all family matters we have one rule: the Latin spelling of the name is fixed from the valid passport and repeated in every document that follows.

People often ask how long a finished translation is kept. Completed work stays in our database, so if you need a second copy of the same document or a new certification, there is no need to translate it again - just call us and give the file number or the date. This is especially useful for those who submit the same certificates every season to different employers or to an embassy.

Languages in orders from Adigeni

Demand in Adigeni splits in two. For work, Polish and German lead, followed by Czech and Dutch. In technical and project work English dominates, while energy equipment often comes with Italian and Chinese. Turkish is the language of the neighbouring market and of materials, Russian of older documents and regional partners. As needed, we also work with French, Spanish, Greek, Ukrainian and Arabic.

How the process works

1

The document from your phone

Take a photo and send it by WhatsApp to 501 113 200 or to info@targmanebi.ge. A multi-page technical file is best sent as a PDF.

2

One question - where is it going

An employer, an embassy, a regulator or a donor - the recipient decides both the language and whether a notary and an apostille are needed.

3

A specialist translator

An energy text is done by a technical specialist, a contract by a legal one, a grant application by a translator experienced in project documentation.

4

Paper on the spot

The file is sent as soon as it is ready, and the courier brings the certified version to Adigeni, or you collect it in Akhaltsikhe - whichever suits you.

Price, deadlines and guarantees

Adigeni is served on the same terms as the capital - there is no surcharge for a mountain municipality; the price is by agreement and is set after we see the document. A certificate or one-page document with the bureau stamp is ready the same or the next day, an employment contract in two days, a notarized package for seasonal work in two to three days, a technical manual on a schedule agreed according to volume, a grant application in stages so that you can fill it in alongside, and a document with an apostille within the time the procedure takes. Cooperatives and companies that translate regularly have prices agreed in advance and one monthly settlement, which is more convenient for accounting. A business plan, a financial model and personal documents are equally confidential for us. Behind the bureau stands a specific responsible person - the sole trader Mariam Zumadze (ID 30601010853), so an official contract and invoice can be issued at any moment, which is especially useful for grant reporting. If an error on our side is confirmed, we correct it free of charge.

The HPP's technical documentation is in English and you need it in Georgian? Writing a grant for your cooperative? A Polish contract has arrived and you want to understand it before signing? Write to us from Adigeni - we will tell you the price and the deadline the same day.

Frequently asked questions - translation in Adigeni

I am going to Poland for seasonal work. Which documents do I need to translate?

Usually the health and criminal record certificates into the language of the receiving country, and for yourself the employer's contract into Georgian, so you know the conditions before signing. If the institution asks for an apostille, we arrange that too; the exact list is often set out in the invitation itself - send it to us and we will tell you what is needed.

The HPP equipment manual is two hundred pages. Do I have to translate all of it?

Often not. If the goal is operation and safety, the relevant chapters, the technical data tables and the warnings are enough - that cuts the cost several times over. Send us the table of contents and we will mark the chapters you cannot do without.

We are a cooperative and the donor wants an application in English. Can you help?

Yes - we translate it and, where needed, point out which wording is not clear enough for the assessor. We treat the budget and indicators section with particular care, because that is where inconsistencies usually appear.

We are planning to export dairy products. Can the certificates be translated?

Yes - veterinary and laboratory documents, the label text and the supply contract. For the commercial part the bureau stamp is enough, while official certificates will need notarization or an apostille, depending on what the receiving country requires.

I live in a village in Adigeni and it is hard for me to get into town. Can everything be done remotely?

Yes - you send us a photo, we translate and have it notarized, and the courier brings you the paper. We need the paper original only when an apostille is being added, and even then the courier takes it and brings it back.

I am back from Germany with certificates for a tax refund. Will a translation help?

Yes, we translate such certificates into Georgian or, the other way round, Georgian documents into German - it depends on where you are submitting them. In tax documents the accuracy of figures and periods is decisive, so we check that part separately.
