A translation bureau for Laituri - TARGMANEBI's service for a settlement with no notary, no translator and no Public Service Hall, and still twenty kilometres from Ozurgeti. Someone in Laituri who needs a consent for a child, a pension certificate for their mother or a certificate for an embassy usually has to deal with three addresses: somewhere to translate, somewhere to certify, somewhere to add the apostille. With us all three happen in one chat - you send a photo, we translate, certify and return it to you in Laituri by courier.
We wrote this page as a practical guide for the people of Laituri: here you will find the five documents that come from Laituri most often, which certification each needs, what happens to the original and how an order works from the settlement. If your case is not here - call 501 113 200 and we will sort it out in one conversation.
Five documents Laituri residents translate most often
1. Power of attorney from abroad
A son or daughter in Greece or Italy gives a parent authority over property, bank or court matters. Needed: a foreign apostille on the original and a notarized Georgian translation. Timing: one to two working days from when you send the photo.
2. Consent for a child to travel
A grandmother or the other parent lets a child go to a parent abroad. Needed: a consent drawn up before a notary, its translation with notarization and, depending on the country, an apostille. The child's name must match the passport.
3. Certificate for a visa
A birth or marriage certificate for an embassy or for family reunification. Needed: an apostille on the original and a notarized translation into the embassy's language. This is the case where the original travels by courier.
4. School certificate for a university
A graduate of the Laituri school applies abroad or goes to study near a parent. Needed: the school certificate and transcript in the receiving country's language, with notarization and apostille; subject names in academic terminology.
5. Work book for a pension
A Soviet-era work book in Russian or a certificate from the tea factory for the Pension Agency. Needed: a notarized Georgian translation of every completed page; handwritten entries are deciphered separately, and the name is matched to the Georgian ID card.
+ Salary statement for a bank
The contract or statement of a family member working abroad, for a Laituri relative's loan. Needed: a Georgian translation with the bureau stamp or notarized - as the bank requires. The photo can be sent straight from abroad.
Five of these six are personal documents, and that is no accident: business in Laituri is small, while families are large and scattered. So what is translated here most often is not one document but a person's whole "history" - over years, for different countries - and every translation has to match the others.
Stamp, notary or apostille - a simple rule for Laituri
These are three different things, and one does not replace another. The bureau stamp confirms that the document was translated and checked by us; the notary confirms the authenticity of the translator's signature on the statement that the translation is accurate; the apostille confirms the authenticity of the original itself, or of the notarial deed, for another country. Based on experience with Laituri orders, here is a guide:
- Bank, insurer, employer, tourism platform - the bureau stamp is usually enough
- Public Service Hall, Pension Agency, school, a Georgian notary for a foreign document - notarization
- Embassy, foreign university, foreign authority for a Georgian document - notarization and apostille
- Foreign power of attorney for a Georgian authority - the foreign apostille must already be on it; we add the notarized translation
- Tourism, advertising, information text - no certification
When you do not know - do not guess: send us a photo of the authority's letter or a link to its website and we will read the requirement ourselves. That costs nothing, whereas preparing a document again costs both money and time. We never recommend unnecessary certification: if the stamp is enough, we will not send you to a notary.
What happens to your original
The most common fear in Laituri is sending the original - and rightly so: there is only one birth certificate or diploma, and replacing it takes months. So the rule is simple: the original only travels when an apostille is being added - in every other case a photo is enough and the document never leaves your home. For an apostille, you hand the document to the courier in a sealed envelope, with confirmation of handover; as soon as we receive it we send you a photo, in Tbilisi the document only goes to the procedure, the rest of the time it is kept at the office, and it comes back the same way. If a document is especially precious, we check before ordering whether it can be replaced with a notarized copy.
Languages in orders from Laituri
Laituri's language picture is typical of Guria: Greek and Italian for carers of the older generation, German and Polish for young people's employment, English for study and general-purpose documents, Russian for old work books and the Baltic states. Being close to the Ureki resort adds Ukrainian in summer; for Turkish, French, Spanish, Czech, Dutch, Arabic and Chinese, a few orders a year come from Laituri and are handled in the same way.
Laituri's tea history still continues today: small producers have restored some of the old plantations and sell tea to foreign buyers, often directly, online. From that come translations into English of labels, product descriptions, invoices and quality certificates, and in the case of organic certification, two-way translation of applications and inspectors' reports. For such documents the bureau stamp is usually enough.
Ordering from Laituri - just as it is
A photo in the chat
Every page, the back side too, in daylight. By WhatsApp or by email to info@targmanebi.ge. Anyone who finds the phone difficult can get help from a neighbour, a son or daughter, or the courier.
One sentence
Who the document is for and by when. If you have the authority's requirement, attach it - that is how we choose the form of certification.
Price and day
In one message you get the price, the day it will be ready and the type of certification. Agree - and work begins. The price does not change afterwards.
The original in Laituri
You receive the file as soon as it is finished. The courier brings the certified original to Laituri or Ozurgeti on an agreed day; anyone who has to go to Tbilisi anyway collects it at the office.
A client in Laituri pays no more than one in Tbilisi - the price is by agreement and depends on the language, the pages, the type of document and the procedures, while the courier is a separate amount known in advance and paid once for several documents from one family. A certificate is translated by the next day, and with notarization it is in your hands in two to three days; the timing of an apostille depends on the authority that issued the document. We work Monday to Friday 10:00-19:00 and Saturday 11:00-19:00 - a photo sent during those hours gets a reply the same day. The sole trader Mariam Zumadze (ID 30601010853) works under the TARGMANEBI name; if her team has made a mistake in a translation, it is corrected free of charge and without a new photo.
A last piece of advice for Laituri: keep an eye on document validity. A criminal record certificate and a certificate of marital status are issued with a validity period, and an embassy will not accept an "old" one - so get these two last in the package and let us prepare the rest in advance. That way, for one departure, everything is "fresh" at the same time.
From Laituri and not sure whether you need a stamp, a notary or an apostille? Send us a photo of the document and the authority's requirement - we will tell you exactly what is needed and what it involves, and prepare it without you having to go to Ozurgeti.

Are an apostille and notarization the same thing?
No. The notary certifies the translator's signature on the translation, while the apostille confirms the authenticity of the original or of the notarial deed for another country. An embassy or foreign authority needs both, a Georgian authority only the notary, and a bank often only the bureau stamp.
I am afraid to send the original of my birth certificate. Is it necessary?
Only for an apostille. If the document is being translated for a Georgian authority, a photo is enough and the certificate never leaves your home. For an apostille, the courier takes it in a sealed envelope, we confirm receipt with a photo, and it is brought back the same way.
A grandmother is letting a child go to the mother in Italy. Who has to write the consent?
The consent is written before a notary by the parent or legal representative who stays with the child. If the grandmother is the guardian, her guardianship document is translated too. The translation of the consent is notarized, and for Italy an apostille is added as well; the child's name must match the passport.
Will an old certificate from the tea factory work for a pension?
Yes, if it confirms length of service - with a notarized Georgian translation if it is in Russian. Let us look at handwritten and faded entries first: whatever can be read is translated, and whatever cannot is marked with a note. You may also need an archival certificate, which the Agency will tell you about.
The bank accepted the salary statement with the bureau stamp, but the embassy did not. Why?
Different authorities have different requirements: the bank cares about the content, the embassy about legal force, so it asks for notarization and often an apostille too. Before ordering, tell us who it is for - so you do not have to prepare the same document twice.
Will the courier come to Laituri, or do I have to go up to Ozurgeti?
Both are possible - the courier comes to Laituri on an agreed day and to an agreed place, or you collect the original in Ozurgeti at a point convenient for you. Handover in Ureki on a working day is also possible.
