Translation Bureau in Lanchkhuti

Lanchkhuti is the centre of the Gurian lowland - the Supsa and Choloki plains, hazelnut and maize fields, twenty minutes from the sea, and thousands of families whose children or parents work in Greece and Italy. TARGMANEBI offers the Lanchkhuti municipality document translation, notarization and apostille - without the road to Kutaisi or Batumi, and in a way that lets a son or daughter order from Athens.

A translation bureau in Lanchkhuti - TARGMANEBI's service for a municipality where Greece is mentioned more often than the neighbouring village. Several generations of women from Lanchkhuti have worked in Greece and Italy, the men in Germany, Poland and the Baltic states, while parents, grandparents and school-age children stay at home. Those families keep up a constant exchange of documents: a power of attorney from there, a consent from here, a certificate for a pension, a certificate for a visa, a diploma for a job.

Kutaisi is an hour from Lanchkhuti and Tbilisi three and a half, and making that journey to certify one certificate makes no sense. With us only the courier has a road to travel: you send the photo - from Lanchkhuti or from Athens, it makes no difference - we translate in Tbilisi, handle the notary and the apostille, and the courier brings the finished paper to Lanchkhuti, equally for the people of Supsa, Nigoiti, Chibati and the other villages.

Greece and Italy - documents in both directions

The largest group of orders from Lanchkhuti involves Greek and Italian documents, and that group has peculiarities of its own: certificates from Greek authorities often carry handwritten additions, abbreviations and municipal stamps, while Italian ones come on regional forms that differ from province to province.

From Greece to Lanchkhuti

  • Residence card and certificate of lawful stay
  • Salary certificate and EFKA insurance extract for the bank
  • Power of attorney from a Greek notary or the consulate
  • Greek marriage or birth certificate
  • Greek court decision

From Italy to Lanchkhuti

  • Permesso di soggiorno and certificate of residence
  • Employment contract (contratto di lavoro domestico)
  • INPS certificates and income declaration
  • Italian municipality certificate of family status
  • Power of attorney or renunciation of inheritance

From Lanchkhuti abroad

  • Certificate that you are unmarried - for marriage to a Greek or Italian spouse
  • Child's birth certificate for reunification with a parent
  • Criminal record certificate to extend residence
  • School certificate and diploma for qualification recognition
  • Consent for a child to travel abroad

Two things are checked separately when translating Greek and Italian documents: the spelling of the given name and surname - Greek transliteration often changes a Georgian surname beyond recognition, and in the translation it has to return to the Georgian identity card - and abbreviations, which have to be written out in full for a Georgian authority. In the other direction, Greece and Italy require a Georgian document with an apostille and a translation; some Italian authorities accept a translation only locally, from a sworn translator, which we establish before the order so that you do not pay for anything unnecessary.

Pensions, social benefits and old documents

A large share of the older generation's documents in Lanchkhuti are Soviet - a Russian-language work record book, an award certificate, a diploma, a military card, a collective farm certificate. The pension agency and the social service accept them with a notarized Georgian translation. Foreign pension matters are added to that: someone from Lanchkhuti who worked years in Greece or Italy claims a pension there, and for it has to submit Georgian papers - identity card, certificate of residence, proof of life certificate - in Greek or Italian with an apostille, while needing to understand the foreign fund's letters in Georgian.

A proof of life certificate for a foreign pension fund is needed every year - for our regular clients in Lanchkhuti we prepare it each year in the same transliteration, in one day.

Farmers, hazelnuts and tea

The Lanchkhuti lowland is Guria's agricultural core: hazelnuts, maize, citrus, tea and livestock. Farming cooperatives and small businesses take part in grant programmes, buy foreign machinery and sell produce to European and Turkish buyers. From that come business plans and reports translated into the donor's language, machinery instructions translated into Georgian, contracts, invoices and certificates translated into English or Turkish, and quality inspection protocols in both directions. For technical and agricultural text, certification with the bureau stamp is normally enough.

Students and school leavers

Graduates of Lanchkhuti's schools go to universities in Kutaisi, Tbilisi and Batumi, and some straight abroad, often to the country where a parent works. For that the school certificate and transcript, a language certificate, a reference letter and the parent's income certificate are translated into Greek, Italian, German or English, with an apostille and notarization. Subject names are carried across in the receiving country's academic terminology so that the university can recognise the credits; and a diploma obtained abroad is translated back into Georgian.

Languages in orders from Lanchkhuti

Lanchkhuti is one of those rare municipalities where Greek is needed more often than English, with Italian in second place. German and Polish serve men's employment, English study, grants and export, Russian older documents and the Baltic states, Turkish farm trade. The remaining directions come from Lanchkhuti in ones and twos - Spanish and French for newer destinations of emigration, Ukrainian and Czech for work contracts, Dutch, Arabic and Chinese for business.

One practical note on Greek documents: certificates from Greek municipalities are often issued with a digital signature and a QR code, without a stamp. A Georgian authority normally accepts such a document if the translation carries the digital signature entry and the verification link in full - we state that separately in the translation, so that the authority does not send the document back as "unstamped".

Ordering when the family is between Lanchkhuti and Athens

1

Whoever holds it, sends it

The mother photographs the certificate in Lanchkhuti, the daughter the residence card in Athens. Both by WhatsApp or by email to info@targmanebi.ge, in one order.

2

One answer in two countries

The same manager writes the price, the day and the type of certification to Lanchkhuti and to Athens - so that the mother is not told one thing and the child another.

3

Our part in Tbilisi

A Greek or Italian direction translator translates, the editor compares names with the passport, and the notary and apostille are handled on the spot. The original travels only for an apostille.

4

Wherever it is needed

The file to both, as soon as it is finished. The original by courier to Lanchkhuti, at the Tbilisi office or, by arrangement, by international post to Greece or Italy.

Payment is possible from either side - by transfer from Lanchkhuti or from abroad - and the invoice is issued in the name of whoever pays. That is convenient when a child orders a parent's documents from abroad and pays from there.

Price and turnaround on Lanchkhuti orders

A client in Lanchkhuti pays no more than one in Tbilisi: the cost is set by the language, the number of pages, the type of document and any additional procedures, while the courier is a separate, stated sum. A one-page Greek or Italian certificate sent today is translated by tomorrow and, with notarization, in your hands the day after that or the day after; an apostille takes as long as the authority that issued the document requires. A handwritten Soviet record book is priced separately, by the number of pages and their legibility. Legally, responsibility for every TARGMANEBI order rests with the sole trader Mariam Zumadze (ID 30601010853, office in Tbilisi at 118 Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue) - an error of hers is corrected free of charge as soon as we are told.

In Lanchkhuti and needing a document from Greece, Italy or a pension fund in Georgian? Or the reverse - a Georgian paper for abroad? Send us a photo from whichever country you are in and we will handle the rest.

Frequently asked questions - translation in Lanchkhuti

I work in Athens and my mother in Lanchkhuti needs a power of attorney to sell land. Where do I start?

You have two routes: a Greek notary (after which an apostille is essential) or the Georgian consulate in Athens (no apostille needed, and it is drawn up in Georgian). With the Greek option, send us the photo directly and the original to your mother; we will prepare the translation before the original arrives and notarize it as soon as it does. Either way the text must say "sell" explicitly - "manage" does not mean sell.

My mother is 75 and cannot photograph documents with a phone. What do we do?

The courier comes to Lanchkhuti on an agreed day and photographs the document on the spot, or takes it away if an apostille is needed. From Athens you only have to call or write on WhatsApp - we and the courier do the rest, and your mother only has to hand over an envelope and receive one.

The Greek pension fund asks every year for a certificate that I am alive. How is that translated?

The certificate is obtained from a Georgian authority or a notary, apostilled and translated into Greek - in one to two working days. For regular clients we prepare it each year in the same transliteration, so that the fund does not take you for a different person.

Will an Italian permesso di soggiorno do for a loan at a Georgian bank?

A bank normally needs proof of income - an employment contract, an INPS certificate or a payslip - along with the residence card, with a Georgian translation. Send us the bank's requirement and we will prepare exactly that package, with the bureau stamp or notarized, as they ask.

My surname is spelled differently in the Greek certificate than in my Georgian passport. Is that a problem?

It is an ordinary case - Greek transliteration changes a Georgian surname. In the translation we write the surname as the Georgian passport has it and note the Greek form; that way the Georgian authority recognises the document as yours. Send a photo of the passport with the certificate.

We are a hazelnut cooperative and have to submit the grant report in English. Does it need a notary?

Most donors accept a translation certified with the bureau stamp. We translate the report with its tables and figures, and sums and units are checked against the original separately. If the donor's manual requires the notarial form, send us that clause.

Will the courier come to the villages of Lanchkhuti?

To the centre of Lanchkhuti always; to Supsa, Nigoiti or Chibati by agreement on the route and an additional sum. The cheapest route is Lanchkhuti market day, when you come down from the village anyway - the courier will then be waiting in the centre.
