A translation bureau for Naruja - TARGMANEBI's service for a town where one family lives in three countries: a parent in Athens or Milan, the child in Naruja with the grandmother, sometimes the other parent somewhere else again. These families need a combination of documents that an ordinary "certificate translation" does not cover: a guardianship act that lets the grandmother act on the child's behalf; a consent written by the other parent from another country; a school certificate that a foreign school has to understand; a vaccination card that a foreign paediatrician will ask for.
We handle that package as one order, not as separate documents. The child's name, date of birth and the parents' details go into every paper in exactly the same spelling, the apostilles are placed in a single visit, and the courier comes once - to Naruja or Ozurgeti. The photos are sent by whoever has the document in hand: the grandmother from Naruja, the parent from abroad.
A child joins a parent - the full package
When a child goes to a parent living abroad, three authorities need documents: the border, the school and the doctor. Each has its own list:
For the border and the embassy
- Consent from the other parent for the child to travel abroad
- Birth certificate with apostille and translation
- The parent's residence document and invitation
- Power of attorney for the guardian or accompanying person
- A certificate about the other parent, if he or she is not involved
For a foreign school
- A school certificate stating the grade and period of study
- Report card or mark sheet for the last years
- An extract from the pupil's personal file
- A certificate on language study and additional programmes
- A recommendation from the class teacher, if the school asks
For the doctor and insurance
- Vaccination card (preventive immunisation record)
- An extract from the child's medical card
- A note on allergies, chronic conditions and prescriptions
- A disability or special needs document
- A certificate for a sports club or kindergarten group
The vaccination card is a special document: vaccine names, doses and dates have to be carried over in international notation so that a foreign paediatrician can compare the schedule with their own without re-checking everything. This is done by a translator with a medical background, who verifies the international names of the vaccines separately. In school certificates, the grade, subjects and grading system are translated using the receiving country's terminology - the Georgian "7th grade" does not match a Greek or Italian school stage one to one, and the translation explains that.
Guardianship and custody - grandparents' documents
When the parents are abroad, the grandmother or grandfather does a great deal on the child's behalf: enrols them at school, takes them to the doctor, applies for a passport, opens a bank account. For that they need either a notarized power of attorney from the parents or an official guardianship act. The parent's power of attorney is drawn up abroad, before a local notary or at a Georgian consulate, gets an apostille and is translated into Georgian - that is our part. In the opposite direction, when the grandmother takes the child abroad or deals with an authority there, her guardianship document, ID and the certificates proving the family relationship are translated into the foreign language with an apostille.
Alongside guardianship, questions of child support and social benefits often come up too: an income statement from the parent abroad for a Georgian court, or a Georgian court decision for a foreign authority that assigns child benefit to the parent. These are legal documents, with notarization and apostille, and they are handled by a translator with a legal background - the terms for guardianship, custody and parental rights carry different content in different countries and cannot be translated word for word.
A child comes back - the opposite direction
The second scenario is common too: a child has studied abroad for several years and comes back to Naruja, or was born abroad and is starting at a Georgian school for the first time. In that case the foreign school certificates, report cards, vaccination card and birth certificate are translated into Georgian with notarization - for the Ministry of Education, the school and the polyclinic. It is the school that decides which Georgian grade matches the foreign school stage; in the translation we keep every detail so that this decision is easy to make.
With a returning child, one thing is worth bearing in mind: foreign schools often issue documents only electronically, without a school stamp. A Georgian school and the education resource centre will as a rule accept such a document if the translation fully reproduces its electronic source and the issuing school's details - we point this out separately in the translation.
Languages in orders from Naruja
The geography of children's documents follows the geography of their parents: Greek and Italian come first, German and Polish for the countries where younger parents work, English for international schools and universal documents. Papers of children born abroad and now back home are often in Russian, Ukrainian or Turkish; we have also worked with Spanish, French, Czech, Dutch, Arabic and Chinese schools, although from Naruja that is rare.
School documents have one nuance that is often missed: a foreign school records the child's name in the form it first saw in the translation, and then keeps that form for years - right up to the school-leaving certificate. So the transliteration in the very first certificate has to match the child's passport exactly, even if the child does not have a passport yet - in that case we use the Latin spelling from the parent's passport and agree it with you when you place the order.

In one message you receive the price, the deadline and the forms of certification for the whole package. Once you agree, work begins; the child's details are written the same way in every document.
One courier
The originals for the apostille are collected in one visit and the certified package comes back once - to Naruja or Ozurgeti. Both parents receive the files as soon as they are ready.
A child's package is five to eight documents, and ordering them together costs far less than ordering them one by one: one courier, one apostille visit, one invoice. The price is set by the language, the number of pages and the procedures involved and is agreed after we see the documents; there is no surcharge for ordering from Naruja. The full package with apostilles is usually ready within a week; if it is urgent, call us. The child's diagnosis, school marks and family circumstances are known only to the translator working on the order and the responsible manager - TARGMANEBI operates in the name of the sole trader Mariam Zumadze (ID 30601010853), who has a legal education and understands well how much correct terminology matters in guardianship matters. A confirmed error is corrected free of charge.

The father has no contact with the child and cannot write a consent. What should we do?
In that case you need a court decision or a relevant certificate that is submitted instead of the father's consent - a lawyer or the social service will explain which one. Our part is translating that document with notarization and apostille, together with the rest of the child's package.
The vaccination card is handwritten and the stamps are blurred. Will an Italian paediatrician accept it?
In the translation we write the international vaccine names and the dates, and mark any unclear entry with a note. If a particular vaccination cannot be read, it is better to get a certificate from the polyclinic - we translate it within a day.
A Greek school is asking for a "report card" - is that our mark sheet?
Yes - the marks for the last one or two years, with the grade and subjects stated. Get the school certificate and the mark sheet together; in the translation we add an explanation of the Georgian school stage and the 10-point system so that the Greek school places the child in the right grade.
The grandmother is taking the child to Italy herself. What does she need?
Consent from both parents for the child to travel with the grandmother, the grandmother's ID, certificates proving the family relationship and, if she is the guardian, the guardianship act - in Italian, with apostille and notarization. We prepare everything as one package.
The child has come back from Germany and needs to enrol at a school in Naruja. What gets translated?
The German school certificate and the Zeugnis reports for the last years, into Georgian, with notarization. The matching grade is decided by the school and the resource centre; in the translation we set out the subjects and marks so that decision is simple.
Both parents are sending the package from different countries. Who pays and who receives it?
Whoever you prefer - payment by bank transfer is possible from any country, and the invoice is issued in the payer's name. Both parents receive the files, and the originals go by courier to where the child is - Naruja.
