A translation bureau for Bediani - TARGMANEBI's service for a settlement where no bureau will ever have a physical office, but where the need for documents exists all the same. Our answer is simple: a fully remote process. You send a picture from your phone, we assess it, translate it and have it notarized if needed, and the courier brings the paper out towards Tsalka or hands it over at an address that suits you. In mountain settlements the connection is not always stable, so we are flexible: a file can arrive in several messages, or a relative can send it to us from town - we still handle the case as a whole.
Environmental legacy and research
Bediani's industrial past has left its mark on the area, and in recent decades the subject has attracted international attention. Our work in this field divides like this:
Research and monitoring
- Soil, water and air analysis results
- Laboratory reports and method descriptions
- Risk and impact assessment documents
- Expert opinions and scientific reports
- Data tables and captions for maps
Rehabilitation
- Clean-up and safe handling plans
- Descriptions of technical solutions
- Work safety instructions
- Documents on transporting and disposing of materials
- Follow-up monitoring programmes
Funding and the community
- Grant applications and budgets
- Reports for donors and foundations
- Information material for local residents
- Minutes of public meetings and Q&A
- Memoranda with organisations
What matters most in such documents is that the same information is equally precise in both languages - for the foreign expert and for the local resident. Concentrations, maximum permissible limits and units are checked separately, and when a complex technical text is meant for the public, we also prepare a simplified version - without changing the factual content. Ambiguity is unacceptable in information about health and safety, and that is the guiding principle of our work in this area.
Religious and charitable work
The religious and charitable initiatives active in Bediani are linked with organisations and private supporters abroad, which creates a separate flow of texts. We translate appeals and letters to donors, project descriptions, reports on aid provided, documents accompanying humanitarian shipments, volunteer agreements and information sheets. Foreign volunteers often need their personal documents translated into Georgian - passport, insurance, medical certificate - while the local side needs the terms of their participation in its own language. In such texts tone matters as much as accuracy: an appeal sent to a donor should be dignified and concrete, without excess pathos - those are the letters that get answered most often.
Documents for local residents
A small settlement has the same everyday needs as a big city. We receive study documents - school certificates, diplomas, transcripts; work visa and employment packages; medical histories; pension and archival certificates, often handwritten and old; powers of attorney from family members who live abroad. For a mountain settlement it is especially important not to have to travel anywhere for any of this - which is why we work so that, from the moment an order is placed until the paper is handed over, the client needs nothing but a phone. If a document needs an apostille, the courier takes the original and brings it back - that is the only case in which the paper has to travel physically.
Health and medical documents
In a high-mountain settlement, getting medical care often means going to town, and in difficult cases consulting a foreign specialist as well. Then translating the documents becomes critically important: test results, imaging reports, the doctor's discharge summary and the treatment history have to come across precisely, without terminology errors. Such material is handled by a translator experienced in medical terminology, handwritten prescriptions are deciphered separately, and abbreviations are written out in full and explained in a note. In the other direction, documents on treatment received abroad are translated into Georgian for the local doctor who has to continue the treatment. All patient data is strictly protected information for us and is never passed to third parties under any circumstances.
In such cases spoken help is often needed too - for example, when a patient has an online consultation with a foreign doctor. Joining by phone or video call is the quickest and cheapest solution: we study the documents beforehand, so during the conversation we already know what it is about. Such sessions are arranged in advance and priced according to their length.
Languages in orders from Bediani
In Bediani English is in highest demand - researchers, donors and international organisations work in it. German is frequent with experts and European foundations, Russian in old technical documentation and archival material, French and Italian with charitable and religious organisations, Greek in family papers. The other languages - Spanish, Polish, Czech, Ukrainian, Turkish, Dutch, Arabic and Chinese - come in as needed.

Translation and certification
The work is done by a specialist translator, and we arrange the notarization and apostille ourselves, so you do not have to spend time on it.
Handover
The electronic version straight away, the paper by courier to Bediani or Tsalka, wherever is convenient for you.
Price and principles
Bediani is served on Tbilisi terms - we add no surcharge for distance, because most of the work is done online; the price is by agreement and is set after we see the document. A one-page certificate is ready the same day, a notarized document in two days, an old handwritten certificate depending on how legible it is, a laboratory or expert report in one to two days, rehabilitation and grant documentation in stages, in parts agreed in advance, and a package with an apostille within the time the procedure takes. Environmental and medical information, like the details of charitable work, is confidential for us; where needed, we also offer organisations a separate agreement. Behind the bureau stands a specific person - Mariam Zumadze, sole trader (ID 30601010853), so settlements with foundations and programmes follow a standard, properly documented procedure. If an error comes from us, we correct it free of charge.
An expert report in English and you need a Georgian version? A report has to go to a donor? Volunteer documents to prepare? A personal paper to translate? Write to us from Bediani - we will sort everything out remotely.

Do you work for such a small settlement too?
Yes, and there is no difference - our process is remote anyway. You send a photo, we translate and certify, and the courier brings you the paper. The only thing that works differently in a small settlement is the courier schedule, which we will tell you exactly when you order.
The environmental report is full of figures and limits. How is that checked?
Concentrations, limit values and units are compared against the original in a separate step, and the table structure stays unchanged. The designations of standards and methods are not translated, because it must be possible to look them up directly in the source.
We want a version local people can understand - the full report is too complex.
We prepare two versions - a full one for experts and a shortened one in plain language for local residents. In the second version the facts and figures stay the same; only the complexity of the wording and the structure change.
Foreign volunteers are coming. Which documents will we need?
Usually a Georgian translation of their passport, insurance and medical certificate, and for them the terms of participation, safety rules and agreement in their language. This set is prepared once, and for the next group only the names change.
My grandmother's old certificate is barely legible. Will you translate it?
We try, and it often works: we write out the deciphered text and mark an unclear place with a note rather than guess. It helps a great deal when a family member remembers what was written in the blurred spot. We give the price and the deadline only after seeing the picture.
The document needs an apostille. Will I have to come in for that?
No - the courier takes the original, we arrange the apostille, and the document comes back the same way. The only thing we check in advance is whether this particular paper really needs the procedure - often a certified translation is entirely sufficient and there is no need for the extra expense.
The internet is weak and it is hard for me to send the file.
Send it in parts, even over several days - we will handle the case as a whole. A relative can also pass the material to us from town. The main thing is that the whole page is visible in the photo, including the stamps and edges.
