Translation Bureau in Tsalka

Tsalka lies on the Trialeti plateau - a place from which, in recent decades, many families left for Greece and other countries, while the house, the plot and relatives stayed here. That shaped the main picture of Tsalka's documents: half the papers arrive from abroad, and half leave from here. Add livestock farming and pastures, the Tsalka reservoir and growing tourist interest. TARGMANEBI serves Tsalka for exactly this two-way flow - remotely, by courier and across both time zones.

A translation bureau for Tsalka - TARGMANEBI's service for a municipality where one family's affairs are almost always split between two countries. A son, daughter or sibling lives abroad, a parent or relative lives here, and the property sits in the middle. In such cases everything depends on the document and on drawing it up correctly: the power of attorney, the certificate, the reference, the translation and the certification. With us such a case is gathered under one number and followed by one person, so that names, dates and wording match on every page. We keep in touch with a client abroad by email and WhatsApp, and hand paper to a client here by courier.

Papers for a family split between two countries

Families that left Tsalka need the same types of documents over the years - first when leaving, then when regularising their status, and later for pensions and inheritance:

From abroad to here

  • Notarized powers of attorney to dispose of property and collect documents
  • Foreign birth, marriage and divorce certificates
  • Court decisions and notarial deeds
  • Certificates of employment history and income
  • Foreign passport and residence documents

From here to abroad

  • Birth certificate and a certificate of marital status
  • Criminal record certificate and proof of citizenship
  • Public Registry extract and property documents
  • Life certificate for a foreign pension service
  • Diplomas, school leaving certificates and employment references

Property and inheritance

  • Sale and gift agreements
  • Renunciations of inheritance and consents
  • Death certificate with an apostille
  • Old, Soviet-era property documents
  • Correspondence with the notary and the Public Registry

Two things cause the most frequent delays in these cases. The first is the spelling of the name: someone who has lived in another country for twenty years is often written three ways in three documents - in Georgian, Latin and local forms. We always rely on the valid passport and keep the other forms in notes. The second is the apostille: a document issued abroad usually needs an apostille in Georgia, and a Georgian one needs it to be submitted there. We clarify these two points before starting an order, because they are the reason papers are most often sent back.

If you are going to a notary abroad, show us the text first. Often it is enough to add one phrase - for example the power to sell or to receive money - to avoid a second visit and a new expense.

Pensions, social matters, healthcare

For a large share of Tsalka families, pensions are the most sensitive topic. To confirm years worked abroad, the local certificates of employment and contributions are needed in Georgian, while receiving a foreign pension requires Georgian documents, including a life certificate that has to be renewed periodically. Add Soviet-era employment record books and archival certificates, often handwritten and faded, whose deciphering is a job in itself: we mark unclear passages with a note and do not guess. On the medical side there is two-way traffic - reports on treatment received abroad for a Georgian doctor, and Georgian test results for a foreign specialist. Such texts are handled by a translator experienced in medical terminology, because the recording of a diagnosis and a drug allows no mistakes.

Trialeti - pastures, farming, tourism

The Tsalka plateau has traditionally been a zone of livestock and pastures: cattle, sheep, dairy products and honey are the base of the local economy. Anyone planning to export produce starts with veterinary and laboratory documents, followed by contracts, invoices and labels. Instructions for imported machinery and veterinary drugs go the other way - into Georgian. In recent years tourist interest has also appeared in Tsalka: the reservoir, the Trialeti mountains, historical monuments and family guesthouses. For them we prepare descriptions, route texts and platform material in the guests' languages, and translate correspondence and replies to guest reviews. Donor projects on pasture management, rural development and small business support are a separate line of work.

Citizenship, residence and return

Some Tsalka families come back after years, or keep close ties with two countries, and that creates a separate group of documents. Residence or citizenship matters usually require translation of the foreign passport and residence permit, marriage and birth certificates, a criminal record certificate, and sometimes proof of income and accommodation. Returning families need their children's school documents to enter the Georgian system, and those starting a business here need foreign company extracts and financial statements. We handle such packages together and also advise on the order: which document should be apostilled first and which translated afterwards. That sequence is often decisive, because the wrong order means redoing the whole package.

Languages in orders from Tsalka

Because of Tsalka's migration history, Greek is far more frequent here than in other regions - certificates, employment and pension documents issued in Greece are a monthly order. It is followed by Russian, found in old papers and regional correspondence, and English - the language of universal documents, projects and tourism. German, Italian and Turkish are common, and we also see Spanish, French, Polish, Czech, Ukrainian, Dutch, Arabic and Chinese.

Tell us the final goal - a sale, an inheritance, a pension or citizenship; based on that we tell you which documents you will need and in what order.

3

Translation and certification

We translate, have it notarized and, where needed, arrange the apostille too; the spelling of names is fixed identically across all documents.

4

Delivery to both sides

The courier brings the paper to a relative here in Tsalka; to someone abroad we send the scanned version by email, and the original by post if needed.

Price, deadlines and trust

Tsalka is served on the same terms as Tbilisi, with the price by agreement once we see the document. A power of attorney or certificate translation with notarization is done in two days, a complete family package in three to four days, pension certificates in two days, a handwritten archival document depending on how hard it is to decipher, a bilingual sale agreement in two to three days, tourism material by volume, and a package with an apostille within the procedure's timeframe. Clients abroad can also pay by international transfer, and we send the invoice in the appropriate language. The details of family matters - who is in dispute with whom, what the property is worth, why a power of attorney is being drawn up - are completely closed information for us. The bureau is run by Mariam Zumadze as a sole trader (ID 30601010853), a lawyer by profession - which is why we check the wording of powers of attorney and inheritance documents with particular care. If an error of ours is confirmed, it is corrected free of charge.

Need to send a power of attorney from Greece? Planning to sell the house that stayed in Tsalka? Need certificates from both countries for a pension? Write to us - we will stay with the case from start to finish.

Frequently asked questions - translation in Tsalka

I live in Greece, I still have a house in Tsalka and I want to sell it. What should I do?

Draw up a power of attorney for a trusted person at a notary in Greece, have it apostilled and send us a photo - we translate it into Georgian and have it notarized, after which your representative can act at the Public Registry. It is important that the text explicitly states the power to sell - so show it to us before you sign.

I need a certificate every year for my Greek pension. Do you do that too?

Yes, the life certificate and other social documents are translated into Greek and apostilled where needed. It is a recurring procedure, so we keep a template and each following year only the dates change.

My parents' papers have the surname in its Greek form, and my passport spells it differently.

This is a common situation. In the translation we use the spelling from the valid passport and give the original form in a note, so that the authority sees these are different records of the same person. We look at all the family's documents together so that this stays consistent everywhere.

My grandmother's employment record book is old and barely legible.

We work on documents like this - we write out the deciphered text and mark unclear passages with a note. Often the family remembers where and in what position the person worked, and that information helps us a great deal. Price and timing are confirmed after we see the photo.

We make dairy products and plan to export. Where do we start?

With laboratory analyses and veterinary documents, then the label to the destination country's requirements and a standard supply contract. This minimum set is done once and afterwards only needs the data updated.

The time difference makes it hard for me to get in touch.

That is not a problem - it is exactly why we prefer written communication: you write to us at any time, we reply in detail during working hours and send the files the same way. The courier takes care of delivering paper to a relative here.
