Professional Translation in Tbilisi and Online

TARGMANEBI prepares personal, legal, medical, academic, technical and business material from Georgian into a foreign language, from a foreign language into Georgian and, where needed, from one foreign language into another. An initial assessment of your document can be obtained online or at our Tbilisi office on Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue.

Professional translation means carrying across the meaning, the terminology, the names, the dates, the numbers and the purpose of a text accurately from one language into another. Before an order begins we establish three things: where the material will be submitted, what format you need, and whether certification is required. Those three answers shape everything that follows.

That sequence matters more than it sounds. A document prepared without knowing its destination is a guess; a document prepared with that knowledge is finished work. This page sets out what the service covers, how an order runs and what you receive at the end.

The main translation services

The service is chosen according to the type of material and the purpose it serves. A single order can combine translation, format preparation and arranging the appropriate certification.

One order can hold several of these at once. A visa package, for instance, often means translating five documents, notarizing three of them and apostilling two - all planned together rather than as separate errands, because the order in which they happen decides whether it works.

Why the field matters more than the language

The most frequent assumption we correct is that translation difficulty scales with how exotic the language is. In practice the field matters more. An English medical discharge summary is harder than a Georgian marriage certificate in Norwegian, because in the first the risk is invisible.

A specialist text differs from a general one in three ways. Terminology often has exactly one correct equivalent, so a synonym is simply wrong. Figures carry the meaning - a dose, a tolerance, an interest rate, a deadline - so an error there does not read as an error. And documents reference each other, so terminology must stay identical across a whole chain.

That is why specialist work goes to a translator in that field and compulsorily passes an editing stage where the figures are compared against the original, one by one. Detail under quality control and translation by industry.

Languages and directions

We work in more than fifty languages and considerably more language pairs, since a pair does not have to include Georgian. The largest flows are English, Russian, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Arabic, Chinese and Ukrainian.

From Georgian into a foreign language. The most common direction, and the more demanding one: the finished text is read by a foreign authority where a stylistic flaw is more visible than it would be at home. We frequently involve an editor on these. From a foreign language into Georgian. Usually for submission to a Georgian authority, a bank, a university or a court, which almost always means notarization as well. Between two foreign languages. A Turkish document into English, Russian into German. These orders go only to translators with a high level in both languages, and an editor is always involved. The turnaround is normally a day longer.

Who uses the service

People preparing to leave. Visa, work permit, study, family reunification. Usually a package of several documents rather than one, where the consistency of the package matters as much as each individual translation. People arriving in Georgia. Foreign nationals needing their documents in Georgian for residence, enrolment, a bank, a company registration or a property transaction. Companies. Contracts, corporate papers, technical documentation, financial reporting and correspondence. Detail under corporate translation and, for firms, law firms. Patients and clinics. Medical history for treatment abroad and, on the way back, a foreign discharge summary in Georgian for the treating doctor and the insurer. Students and universities. Diplomas, supplements, transcripts and academic material in both directions.

Tbilisi, the regions and online

The service office is at 118 Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue in Tbilisi, near Marjanishvili metro. There are also offices in Kutaisi, at Nikea St 18, and in Batumi, at Pirosmani St 18.

Coming in person is needed in three situations: a notary has to see an original, you are collecting certified paper, or you are signing a document yourself before a notary. Everything else - assessment, translation, agreeing the price, delivery and payment - is done remotely.

For the regions that matters most, since coming into the city can take half a day. Send a photo, receive the file, and have any certified paper delivered by courier. Coverage across the country: cities and branches.

How an order runs

1

Send the file

A clear photo of every page, a PDF or an editable file, by email to info@targmanebi.ge or by WhatsApp. Photograph it flat, with all four corners and every stamp visible.

2

Specify the requirement

The languages, the country or institution where it will be submitted, the deadline you want and whether certification is needed. Those four details decide the form and the price.

3

Price and deadline

After we see the file you receive an exact offer and a statement of what the service includes. The price is fixed at that point and does not change afterwards.

4

Translation and checking

The work is checked and handed over in the electronic or printed form agreed in advance, with notarization or an apostille arranged where the recipient requires it.

Price, turnaround and what you receive

The price is agreed after the material is seen, because it depends on the language, the real volume of text, the field and the form of certification. Notarization and the apostille are separate components whose tariffs are set by the notary and the state rather than by us - we quote all three together in one reply. Orientations under translation prices.

Turnaround: a one-page certificate the same or the next day; a diploma with its supplement one to two days; multi-page or specialist material by volume; notarization adds half a day; an apostille follows the Public Service Hall schedule and is never same-day.

What you receive: a translation faithful to the content and the format of the original, with names in your passport spelling, figures verified against the source, and the certification the receiving authority actually asks for. A confirmed error on our side is corrected free of charge under the terms of service.

Send us the document and tell us where it is going. The assessment is free, the price is agreed before the work starts, and you are not obliged to order.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to come to the office?

In most cases no. Assessment, translation, agreeing the price, delivery and payment all work remotely. Coming in is needed only when a notary must see an original, when you collect certified paper, or when you are signing a document yourself before a notary.

Which languages do you work in?

More than fifty, and considerably more language pairs, since a pair does not have to include Georgian. The largest flows are English, Russian, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Arabic, Chinese and Ukrainian. Rare languages are available too, usually with a longer turnaround, which we state in advance.

Can you translate between two foreign languages?

Yes - a Turkish document into English, Russian into German, and similar. These go to translators with a high level in both languages and always pass an editing stage, so the turnaround is normally a day longer than a direction involving Georgian.

How do I know whether I need certification?

It depends on the recipient. Georgian state authorities almost always require notarization; many foreign universities, employers and crewing companies accept the bureau stamp. Send us the recipient's written requirement and we will tell you free of charge - it often saves the notary fee entirely.

I have several documents. Should I send them together?

Yes, always. When a package arrives together, one translator handles all of it, the same name spelling is used throughout, and inconsistencies show up immediately. Sending documents separately weeks apart is more expensive and considerably riskier, because a foreign authority reads the package as a whole.

Do you use machine translation?

No. Client documents are never sent to artificial intelligence systems and AI is not used to produce translations - that is written into our confidentiality policy. The whole process is human: a translator translates, an editor checks.

What if the authority rejects the document?

Send us the written text of the refusal. If the reason is an inaccuracy in the translation, the correction is free and treated as a priority. If the requirement changed or was never given to us, it counts as new work under the terms of service - and we will tell you honestly which of the two it is.
